Monday We leave Dijon this morning after breakfast and travel south to our main hotel in the beautiful medieval market town of Uzès.
Tuesday A free day for you today to relax by the hotel pool or take a stroll into the medieval town of Uzès. A charming little town rich in ancient heritage and the Place aux Herbes square with its beautiful arcade houses, cafes and restaurants.
Wednesday We begin today with a visit to the romantic town of Saint-Remy-de-Provence, with its attractive centre, attracting artists and tourists in this chic little town which is also famous for its lavender and as the place where Van Gogh painted The Starry Night, while staying here. Today is market day, a huge and varied market renowned for being one of the most exceptional in the Provence. There will be time to explore the town where you will experience all the charm of a typically Provencal way of life, lunch in one of the many attractive restaurants or quaint cafes or simple wander the tree lined boulevards with their cosmopolitan shops. We continue after lunch to the medieval village of Les Baux de Provence. Perched on top of a fortified rocky site, we visit the unique Carrières de Lumières, an amazing multimedia show inside a huge manmade rock cavern.
Thursday Today we visit the ancient Roman aqueduct of Pont Du Gard, an amazing feat of beautiful Roman engineering built over 2000 years ago to take water to the City of Nimes over 50km away. We include entrance to the visitors centre which provides an interactive insight into how the aqueduct was made. We will also enjoy a 40min steam train ride on the Vapeur des Cevennes from Anduze to St Jean du Gard following the magnificent forested valleys along the Gardon river.

The famous Pont davignon nursery rhyme fame sits majestically halfway across the Rhône and the city teems with cobbled streets, quaint boutiques and leafy squares. We will also enjoy an afternoon cruise on the Rhône to see the majestic city from the river.
Saturday Sadly, we say goodbye to Uzès and make our way back to Dijon for our overnight stop. Dinner on arrival.
